Raspberry update

This is one of the raspberry canes I stuck in the ground last August. It has a little green shoot! This is very exciting as they have done nothing whatsoever since I stuck them in the ground, and I was unconvinced that anything would ever come of them. Now I have great hope for beautiful red raspberries, possibly later this year if we’re lucky! Always assuming Wilb doesn’t dislodge the canes. She uses them as a scratching post at the moment, so they are permanently topped with a little clump of cat hair. Nice.

  1. I love raspberries and bought three each of three different types last November which I planted on the plot. A few are only now just showing signs of growth like that, whilst others have yet to do anything. Thankfully I don’t have a Wilb problem! xx

  2. Incidentally if anyone was thinking that Wilb is rather overexposed, then you’re right. She is. In every way.
