Curry Reviews – The Natraj

Back in the glory days at LZ Towers it was common to stumble out of the pub and into the Neel Akash, the friendliest curry house in Charlotte Street.  Then one day it all went horribly wrong when, without warning, it closed down and was replaced by some kind of Brazilian effort.  Naturally we boycotted it and within 6 months our sustained non-attendence had the place done for.

Then a miracle occurred.  Like a phoenix from the ashes, the Natraj was born! Complete with the same waiters, ambiance and even “Neel Akash specials” listed on the menu.

So on Wednesday we went on an unofficial Curry Club outing and it was just like the old days.  The waiters recognised us and even knew King Tikka’s order.  They brought our popadoms with just a nod of the head.  The curry was better then we remembered.  They topped up our pints of Kingfisher like it was the finest wine.  They even brought After Eights and hot towels at the end.

All in all a very welcome return.  Just a shame it’s not local any more, so I think I’m going to have to drag everyone over to the Bengal Tiger soon.
