London Wetland Centre

Him Indoors and I embarked on a crazy cycling expedition today. We sped up to the river at Putney, discovered the Thames tow path – which is pretty exciting in itself – before arriving at the London Wetland Centre in Barnes.

It’s quite pricy to get in at £8.75 each, but well worth it. It’s full of loads of different environmental areas for the birds, plus it caters really well for families and cyclists, with big metal cages you can sling a couple of bikes and all your gear into when you get there.

It also seems obligatory that you have (a) binoculars / telescope (b) camera with unfeasibly large zoom lens (c) kids or (d) all of the above hanging off you at various angles if you want to wander round the place.

Then when you’ve finished taking in the wildlife, there’s a nice cafe for a cup of tea and a sit down at the end. Lovely.
